PROPOSE A PILOT ALL PROGRAMMES
The work

What the programme supports

Member-led pilots

Small funded pilots designed and run by member schools: a teaching method, a device model, a timetable change.

Educational research

Studies on access, attainment, teacher development and the effect of digitalisation in African schools.

Technology research

Practical work on connectivity, offline learning, refurbishment and low-cost infrastructure.

Publications

Findings written up as short, usable reports rather than papers nobody in a school will read.

Data initiatives

Shared data on the network: what schools have, what they need, and what changed.

Research partnerships

Joint work with universities, NGOs and technology partners, with member schools as full participants.

Taking part

How a pilot happens

01 Call for proposals An annual call invites member schools and researchers to propose a pilot with a clear question.
02 Selection A review group selects pilots on usefulness, feasibility and whether other schools could copy the result.
03 Funding and support Selected pilots receive funding, a research contact and help with measurement.
04 Run and measure The pilot runs for a term or a year, with simple measures agreed at the start.
05 Publish Results are published, presented at the annual conference, and turned into a playbook for other schools.

Bring a question worth answering

Schools, researchers and partners can propose a pilot or join an existing one.
